JNUC 2020 recap

Quick recap from JNUC 2020.

You’ve done it again, Jamf Nation! Despite it being a virtual event, all 17,000+ registrants helped keep the community feel that we’ve all come to know and love – and make this year’s conference the largest yet!

As we put a bow on the Jamf Nation User Conference, note that the virtual platform will be live and available to you for the next two weeks. So, get as much out of these sessions as you can.

This also means that if you didn’t previously register, you can still gain free and instant access to 100+ sessions across all experience levels and industries.

Before you go, here are two key takeaways from this year’s event:

1. Jamf Nation continues to be the greatest community in high-tech

Jamf Nation members and the enterprises, schools and healthcare organizations they support are resilient and relentless in their drive to empower the employees, students, teachers, providers and patients they serve. Over three days, attendees heard and shared countless new workflows, best practices and stories of Apple success to ensure they had the know-how and tools to keep users, devices and networks connected, managed and protected. Case in point:

And these are only a few of the many!

2. Together, we are prepared for what’s next

Remote work, distance learning and telehealth are not going away any time soon (and quite possibly, may never go away). And we believe that’s OK. Jamf solutions are built to empower remote users with things like zero-touch deployments, telehealth workflows, virtual assessment apps and Remote Classrooms — which have now all become necessities.

Our Apple Enterprise Management platform will continue to add enhancements to ensure you have everything you need, when you need it, regardless of where your users are.

Thanks again for going on this journey with us. JNUC 2021 is slotted for October 19-21 in Orlando, Florida. As we continue to monitor the COVID-19 pandemic, be on the lookout for more registration information as it becomes available.

As always, stay strong, stay safe… and carry on doing the incredible work you are doing, Jamf Nation.

Same-day support for iOS and iPadOS 14

Jamf did it again!

Apple’s iOS 14 and iPadOS 14 are here and Jamf offers same-day support for both.

At Jamf, we are with you on the palpable excitement that comes when Apple drops their newest operating systems. It’s fun, it’s exciting, but if you’re ill-prepared or your users start upgrading and cause things to break, it can turn into a hectic nightmare, quick.

This is why Jamf, in our effort to support Apple users and admins across the world, we undertake the task of being ready to provide support the day these new operating systems become available. We call it same-day support and for the ninth year in a row we are delighted to be able to offer it to you by supporting iOS 14 and iPadOS 14.

Whether you want to immediately roll out the new operating systems or delay availability so IT can take time to validate the updates, same-day support is a powerful way we have your back during one of the busiest times of the year.

Not only that, we want to make sure that if you are new to OS upgrades — or even a veteran —you feel ready to tackle the task and know all of your options. That’s why we have a few assets to help out.

iPadOS and iOS Upgrades Guide

First, we have a short e-book to help guide you through iOS 14 and iPadOS 14, as well as, the important steps along the way to make sure you are dotting you I’s and crossing your T’s on your upgrades.

  • The importance of beta testing
  • Ways to strategically test your technology stack
  • How to be transparent and incorporate user testing
  • Methods to successfully rollout your new OSs

iOS/iPadOS Upgrade Workflow

If you are a veteran when it comes to OS Upgrades, you may not feel the need to review a full e-book. We get it! The days are busy. We have gone ahead and created for you a simplified workflow for upgrading to iOS 14 and iPadOS 14. Just select which one fits your MDM:

Today should be a fantastic day, not one that keeps you up worrying about apps, profiles, and Apple devices not working or having a negative impact on your end users. The new operating systems should provide you, your users, and organization as a whole, the ability to dream up new workflows that streamline your day-to-day tasks while elevating what you achieve with Jamf and Apple.

We are here for you, here for your success, and want you to succeed with Apple. Go forth and conquer!

Jamf releases Jamf Pro 10.23

Jamf Nation is the largest community of its kind with over 100,000 users and the Jamf Nation user community is an integral part of how Jamf gathers and monitor user feedback.

Jamf listens closely to customer feedback and product enhancement recommendations. It’s a critical part of how the team continuously enhance the user experience across the Jamf platform.

One key feature that Jamf released today in Jamf Pro is the ability to enable computer policies to automatically retry a failed policy. This feature is a direct result of that feedback.

With the Retry Policy feature, you can now configure a policy with the execution frequency of “Once per computer” to automatically re-run if it fails. The failed policy will attempt to reinstall until successful for the number of retries specified in the settings.

What’s New:

  • Retry Policies
  • Venafi Integration
  • Cloud Services Connection and Icon Service
  • Apple Push Notification Service (APNs) HTTP/2 Communication Protocol
